SIX REPRESENTATIVES OF KAZAKHSTAN JOINED TO THE FIDE COMMISSION

For the first time, the list of official members of the FIDE commission includes representatives of Kazakhstan. This list is approved once every three years at the presidential council of the World Chess Federation. Traditionally, members of the commission are prominent chess sports figures who have made a significant contribution to the development of culture and the popularization of the intellectual game in their country.

“The decision of the FIDE Presidential Council in favor of six representatives of Kazakhstan at once is an indicator of the high appreciation of the work of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation under the leadership of Galimzhan Shakhmardanovich Yesenov, – says Irina Grishchenko, Executive Director of the Federation, – during the operation our team achieved great success in promoting chess in the country, and we are not going to stop there”.

Berik Tuktybekovich Balgabaev, Vice-President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation was appointed as Advisor to the President of FIDE Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich.

The KCF Vice-President Zhandos Abishev became a member of the commission on events. The KCF Executive Director – Irina Gryshchenko was elected as a member of the commission on social issues. Grandmaster and international master – Yevgeny Vladimirov entered the FIDE Education Commission. The world and Asian champion and the grand master Darmen Sadvakasov gained a membeship in the global strategy commission. World champion, grandmaster and goodwill ambassador of UNICEF – Dinara Saduakasova joined the commission on rules, and the women’s international master, member of the national team of Kazakhstan – Gulmira Dauletova took the place in the commission on the draw.

“From this year even more opportunities open up for Kazakhstan. Moreover, it is not only about the development of the game in the country, – said Zhandos Abishev, – Now we are the direct decision-making body on key issues. This is a serious step forward, which indicates the great potential of our country on the world chess arena. ”

In total, the commission included 224 people from more than 130 countries of the world. Kazakhstan takes the 3rd place after Russia and the United States by the number of representatives. Earlier in the FIDE commission there has been no representative of Kazakhstan.
