Almaty hosted Kazakhstan Seniors Chess Championship.

The grandmaster from Kokshetau, Serikbay Temirbayev, won within men category up to 65 years old, who scored 8 points out of 9.

The second place was given to Saltanat Mukanov (7 points), the third was given to Shohan Karimov (5.5 points).

In the category Men over 65 the victory was scored to Tolegen Nukin, master from Pavlodar – 8 points out of 9.

Marat Primbetov comes second with the score of 7,5 points, and Hanif Husainov comes third with the score of 6,5 points.

In the category women under 65 there was nobody equal to grandmaster from Pavlodar, Elena Ankudinova – 8 points out of 8!

The second place was given to Nadezhda Iskichekova (6 point), and the third was given to Elena Darevyanko (3 points).

In the category women over 65 the victory was scored to Panu Abdikasova from Almaty – 3 points out of 4.
Bahyt Badamshina comes second with the score of 3 points. The winner was defined by tie-break in rapid chess.

The tournament was also attended by the production veterans, including Erkebulan Turatai. He worked almost a quarter of a century at Aksu Ferroalloy Plant and more than once during his chess career was the champion of the company.

In addition to participating in a unique competition arranged for Pavlodar chess fans Dinara held a special master class and presented his own book “First steps in chess”.

– I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the tournament. I think it will be interesting to play all together. Of course, I had previously arranged simultaneous exhibitions, but today I think it will be the strongest team that I’ve ever played with – said Dinara Saduakasova

The author told about this exciting game, the rules and laws of the Chess Kingdom and shared her experience. Dinara published a book at the expense of her scholarship and plans to present the handbook to boarding schools, schools, educational centres, which will be another contribution to the development of chess in Kazakhstan.

 

The representative of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, international grandmaster, Pavel Kotsur, was also among the honoured guests. Pavel Mikhailovich holds the title of the Champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan among men. Being the chief coach of children’s, women’s and men’s national teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan he lead the players and teams to victories at the World and Asian Championships.

 

According to the results of the event, the first team place was given to the representatives of JSC “Aluminium of Kazakhstan”, the second place was given to the employees of the JSC “Eurasian Energy Corporation”. The representatives of Aksu Ferroalloy Plant JSC “TNK “Kazkhrom” come third
In the simultaneous game, Igor Sannikov, an oxygen-cutting operator of centralized repair shop of JSC “Aluminium of Kazakhstan” was recognized as the best player. In a face to face contest he had a confident win.

All the participants received promotional gifts and diplomas.
It should be noted that this is not the first intellectual sports event arranged by the Eurasian Group. Thus, in November last year, in Astana, the company’s employees were able to participate in a simultaneous play with the famous international grandmaster, World Champion Anatoly Karpov. Thereby many participants demonstrated splendid results.
