The Kazakhstan senior chess championship 2016 has ended

The winners will have the opportunity to participate in both the World and Asian Senior chess championships

Kazakhstan Senior Chess Championship 2016 gathered 41 athletes in Kostanay. The competition was held in two age categories: men and women from 50 to 65 years and 65+.

In the age group of 50 to 65 years, Elena Ankudinova from Pavlodar won the champion’s title among women. Runner up is Zaytuna Turalieva from Aktobe. First place in the 65+ group among women was taken by Nadezhda Iskichekova with Panu Abdikasova securing the second (both from Almaty
DSC_0390Aytkazy Baymurzin and Sergei Linnikov won the gold and silver respectively in the 50 to 65 years group. The winner of the 65+ is Marat Primbetov, and second place went to Azerbek Moldagaliev.
DSC_0330Winners of the first place are eligible to participate in the World Senior Chess Championship. The silver medalists qualify for the Asian Championship.
