Kazakhstan Chess Cup/ 1st stage of the Chess Cup 2023 of the Republic of Kazakhstan among men and women, the open tournament, will be held in Astana from April 22 (arrival day) to April 30 (departure day).

 

The prize fund is 23,000,000 Tenge.

 

Venue: Beeline Arena Tennis Court, Turan Avenue 4/2, Astana.

 

The tournament is organized by the International Chess Federation FIDE and the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, with the support of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Astana.

 

The tournament is held with the FIDE rating calculation by the Swiss system, in 9 rounds, by the FIDE rules. The SwissManager software will be used for the pairings.

 

Time control is - 90 minutes and a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.

 

The Cup involves up to 200 participants. The priority is for those who apply earlier.

 

Chess players not below the 2nd category who have paid the tournament fee can participate in the tournament.

 

The fee depends on the player’s ELO rating:

 

GM, WGM, and 2400 rating – no fee

 

2300-2399 – 7,000 Tenge

 

2200-2299 – 10,000 Tenge

 

2100-2199 – 15,000 Tenge

 

2000-2099 – 20,000 Tenge

 

Below 2000 – 25,000 Tenge

 

No ELO – 30,000 Tenge

 

Young players (born in 2005 and after) and veterans (born in 1956 and older) are provided a 50% discount.

 

The organizers provide reception (accommodation and meals) for international grandmasters rated 2500 and above. The quota is one grandmaster per country.
