A FAMOUS ARMENIAN CHESS PLAYER BECAME A COACH OF THE FEMALE NATIONAL CHESS TEAM OF KAZAKHSTAN

Today in Almaty, the Kazakhstan Chess Federation has completed a competitive selection of coaches of the country national teams. Anuar Ismagambetov, Pavel Kotsur and Arman Pashikyan became them for the next two years.

Grandmaster Arman Pashikyan – he will lead the women’s national team of Kazakhstan — a well-known Armenian chess player who has proven himself as a coach of the men’s national team of Armenia, which showed brilliant results in the world chess arena under his leadership. One of his wards was grandmaster Levon Aronian (2767 rating) – the winner of many competitions, one of the contenders for the title of World Champion and two-time winner of the World Cup.

“I am grateful to my Kazakh colleagues for their trust, – admits A. Pashikyan, – This is especially responsible on the eve of the World Championship, which will be held in March in Astana, but the responsibility only gives me additional motivation for even more dedicated work.”

Anuar Ismagambetov will continue his work as a coach of the youth national team. Last year, his team showed brilliant results, bringing home more than 30 medals from the World and Asia Championships and other international competitions over the past two years. Pavel Kotsur will lead the men’s team of Kazakhstan.

“The competitive selection was held among ten candidates, – says the Executive Director of the Kazakhstan chess Federation Irina Grishchenko, – For Mr. Pashikyan, this is the first experience of cooperation with Kazakh chess players. He is a playing coach who has repeatedly brought his teams to the number of winners of prestigious international tournaments in the chess world.”

Today, the composition of the national chess teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which will defend the honour of the country at the world team championship in Astana, was also approved. The men’s team included Rinat Jumabayev, Murtas Kazhgaleyev, Anuar Ismagambetov, Denis Makhnev and Pyotr Kostenko. The women’s team will be represented by Zhansaya Abdumalik, Dinara Saduakasova, Gulishan Nakhbayeva, Gulmira Dauletova and Madina Davletbayeva.

Let us recall that the Kazakhstan Federation made a transfer of the selection of national team coaches on a competitive basis in 2017.
