Semifinals of the Kazakhstan Championship will take in Pavlodar
From 5 to 14 February semifinals of the KAZAKHSTAN chess Championship among men and women will be held in Pavlodar. The competitions is organized by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation and the Pavlodar regional Chess Federation with the support of the National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” and scientific-educational fund named after Academician Shahmardan Esenov.
The tournament will bring together the strongest chess players of the country. The tournament with the established norms of international titles is a qualifying competition preceding the final 2016 Championship of Kazakhstan. The semi-final of the championship will be held in Pavlodar’s House of chess following the Swiss system with total of 9 rounds and a consideration of players’ international rating. The preliminary list has 76 participants, who come from almost all the regions of Kazakhstan, including the cities of Astana and Almaty.
