The 1st stage of the competition for participation in the Seminar of FIDE arbitrators has come to an end. A total of 21 applications were submitted from 12 cities and regions of the country. Of these, 13 people passed the first round.
Finalists of the 1st stage of the selection for the Seminar of arbitrators:

- Chingiz Kenzhebaev (Aktau)
- Talgat Tazhigaliev (Atyrau)
- Alikhan Yersakanov (Semey)
- Nurali Ahmedzhanov (Aktau)
- Nurdos Erezhepov (Kyzylorda).
In the second round, an online interview will take place on June 22-24 (via Skype). According to its results, 7 finalists will be selected, to whom the Kazakhstan Chess Federation will pay all expenses for participation in the Seminar of FIDE arbiters. Applicants, who do not pass the 2nd stage, will be eligible to participate in the training without making a contribution.
The Seminar is conducted by an International arbitrator – Chairman of the FIDE Rules Commission – Ashot Vardapetyan (Armenia). Persons, who successfully pass a Seminar and tests, will receive norm for assignment of a rank «FIDE arbitrator». The Seminar of arbitrators will be held from 1 to 4 July 2018 in Astana during the Chess Festival «Astana Open».
