The World Chess Championship was held among cadets in the categories under 8, under 10 and under 12 years old from 3 to 16 November in Santiago de Compostela, in Spain.
This large-scale event brought together novice chess players from five continents in Galicia. More than 800 juniors from 80 countries took part in the competition. The event also included coaching courses, participants and guests of the event could visit school chess workshops, as well as take a tour of the city.
Kazakhstan at this competition was represented by more than 30 athletes.
The best result was shown by Nurmanova Alua in the category of up to 12 years old, sharing 3 – 7 places with four rivals. According to the additional indicator (coefficient), Alua took the 4th place.
Amina Katrbekova took 8th place in the same category.
Zakirova Aisha took 8th place in the category of up to 10 years old.
Kalikhamet Elnaz took 6th place in the category of up to 8 years old.
Mamedov Edgar took 7th place in the category of up to 8 years old.
Nurgaliyev Saug took 12th place in the category of up to 8 years old.
